Focused Development has always offered training for boys and girls. We have never had many girls join us. In 2021, after not making her 8th-grade team, Raquel Feliciano showed up for training, and she kept showing up. She was 1 of 2 girls in the gym with a bunch of guys. She was nervous, but she wanted to get better. Raquel worked hard. She did everything the guys did, from hill sprints and burpees to basketball drills and scrimmages with the guys, who showed her no mercy. She stuck with it. AAU season came, and she asked to play with the boy’s team. After conversations with her and her parents, we agreed. Look at her now!! She is ranked 5th in scoring. We are so proud of how far she has come and excited to see what’s next. Keep working hard Rocky!
